Can be too sharp - kitchen and dining room

The paring knife from my set was gone so I was just trying to replace the one I used a lot. This Linoroso knife is extremely sharp and the first time I used it to chop onions I cut my thumb and the bleeding stopped after an hour. This blade is longer than I'm used to and much sharper so I'm very careful now but also hesitant to use a knife! I should probably use a chef's knife to dice the onion, but I'll get better at it in the future. It goes perfectly with a small Brussels sprouts cutting board, for example!
