Review on 🎨 Amaco 402800 Velvet Underglaze, 1 Pint Jar, Jet Black - V-361 - Premium Quality Ceramic Paint by Kim Sanchez

I use this underglaze for decorating sgraffito on both functional and sculptural ceramics. I apply 2 coats to the green ware, cut out the sgraffito pattern and after biscuit firing, fire it to a 6 cone under a transparent MATT glaze. My matte glaze (using G1214Z Matte Clear) doesn't always mix well with other underglazes (see: Amaco Velor Black.) He likes to make them pastel or bleeding. This underglaze goes well with my matte glaze, so I always have it in my studio. It stays dense and black as it should be. However, 2 layers under the high-gloss polish can still show some streaks.
