I lived in Wisconsin about 13 years ago and bought a similar piece for my garage to keep out the wind, snow and rain during the Midwest's heavy rains and snowstorms. It worked great. Now in North Carolina, the two-story garage we have gets a lot of rain and wind from our coastal storms, and melting ice is leaking under the garage door. So I decided to try and do what I was doing here in Wisconsin. This item is installed the same way as this one. I didn't buy glue because the price seemed too high. I went to Lowes for extreme weather Loctite which was a much better value. In general, the installation went as expected. You need to prep the floor in the garage, clean it of dirt and grime (I used rubbing alcohol, which I bought at Walmart for about $2 a liter). AFTER preparing the floor for another 15 minutes, marking the splice and applying the glue, everything went as expected. Since then we've had several heavy rains and there hasn't been a drop of moisture in the garage. At the moment I don't know how long it will stay in place. We lived in Wisconsin for about 3 years and that year lasted until the moment we moved. There are no plans at all to move here. Hopefully it stays in place for years to come. I highly recommend this item. Works as advertised.
