After reading about temperature changes with these thermometers, I tested them in my fridge/freezer. I've measured the actual fridge/freezer temperature using a wire thermometer that I've previously tested with calibrated lab equipment, so I'm pretty sure the actual temperature is accurate enough. After 2 hours in a 37°F refrigerator, one of these thermometers read 38°F (great) while the other read 42°F (not very good). Moved the higher thermometer to the freezer at 11°F. After 3 hours in the freezer, the second thermometer read 10°F (great). While other reviewers have noted similar temperature calibration differences between the two thermometers, the calibration inaccuracy appears to be less at freezing temperature (1-10°F). I know, I know, that's too much for essentially a $5 thermometer! But they are pretty good fridge/freezer thermometers if you can verify the calibration against a known source and if the temperature calibration changes suit your fridge/freezer thermometer needs. However, if you try to use them in 2 fridges, the temperature shown may be 5°F higher than the actual temperature.
