Review on 🌊 Waterproof Hiking GPS: Garmin eTrex Enhances Navigation by Brian Whitmore

Penny Wise, Pound Stupid!

This device is a dime wise but you wouldn't have known it until you bought the device. I have an updated Garmin E-Trex Venture HC. This device I've had before requires a "unique" data port that requires a custom cable, which is $40 at Best Buy. If you lose it, you should get another one. So $84 plus $40 equals $124. The upgraded version is much better in signal reception etc. etc. see specifications. More satellites, better screen, everything. The data cable for the upgraded device is your standard USB cable. You probably already have a dozen. The updated version costs $125. You need a data cable as it allows you to send GPS waypoints directly from your computer to your device. No more entering data points! Really really good. Of course you can do it with the old one, but you'll have to shell out that $40 at Best Buy. You might find a cable cheaper online, but be aware of the shipping costs and you might not be able to figure out what you need without help. The data port on this device is weird. In parallel with the review, I added photos of the data cables to the above blocks. Please check them.
