Just got it in the mail yesterday and now I have a real chance to try it out. I have a small cheap Asus laptop designed for Windows. I wanted to set it up to write C++ with a Linux distribution. First, I tried to install Arch on the device, but I had serious problems connecting to the WiFi. I decided to simplify things and try Linux Mint, to my dismay the same problem with WIFI didn't go away. I've researched on the internet and I think that this particular network card (wifi card) in this laptop doesn't work well with Linux drivers. I've read about this little key in several blogs/threads and heard that it works well with Linux. I'm new to Linux Mint and had no problems with this WIFI dongle. I'm writing this review on my laptop right now and the little dongle is happily telling me it's talking to the network with its little blinking blue light. No disconnects or anything weird. I connected to my server and downloaded about 40 gigabytes of data via WIFI and the key handled it like a champ. The speed is a bit slow but for my purpose I really don't care. Slightly lower speeds defeat no speed at all. I've attached an image of the speed test results of this dongle laptop and my desktop on an Ethernet network for comparison. I know it's generally wrong to compare a wireless network to a wired network, but the wireless card on my desktop offers about the same speed as Ethernet when I'm using it. Despite a slower speed of around 30Mbps, I'm 100% happy with this thing. I would pay more for something that also works, albeit at a faster speed.
