It doesn't work for me

UPDATE: Working with Panda has allowed me to go back to them and get a refund. Although the device didn't work for me, I was very happy with their technical support and their willingness to accept returns. ORIGINAL: I don't know if it was just a bad device or if you might have a problem with it, but it didn't work for me. It installed and connected without any problems, but didn't stay connected for more than 15 minutes, after which I had to turn it off and on again to reconnect. I have to sayโ€ฆ

ALLOWS to change/increase the transmission power

I bought this adapter for long-distance experiments. I took the risk because it wasn't clear if this adapter would allow increasing/decreasing transmit power on Linux. After a lot of experimenting I figured out how to do it via iwconfig. With this adapter you CAN increase the transmission power to any desired value. You can also reduce the transmit power for use with a signal booster. You can easily change the country code to bypass FCC restrictions if you wish. I initially had some troublesโ€ฆ

Overheats easily, annoying and cheap

It worked fine for a few months and then I got intermittent power cuts when my computer (Win 10) suddenly stopped recognizing the device. Other Wi-Fi devices on my network worked fine. I've tried all sorts of fixes: restarting the PC and/or changing USB ports sometimes helped, although the USB 3.0 ports always caused problems. After another 4-5 months, the condition worsened. From research I came to the conclusion that it overheated several times and damaged the unit even though it wasn't inโ€ฆ

Easiest to install on Linux

I bought this to replace the built in WiFi on my Raspberry Pi. The built in adapter works fine, but connecting my Pi to my local Wi-Fi network was a bit iffy. I thought this adapter would work better with an antenna attached to it. That's how it is. It's the only USB wireless adapter that comes close to "plug and play" status on Linux systems. Most USB Wi-Fi dongle manufacturers treat Linux as an afterthought. Panda has taken care to use WiFi chips whose drivers have been included in theโ€ฆ

Fantastic solution for my needs. I wish I had bought this item sooner!

This summer I put together a new build of the computer (after 10 years with my last build on Vista. yes, long story). I spared no expense in putting this assembly together. I settled on a high-end MSI motherboard, a 6700 i7, 32GB RAM, a 980ti GPU and some nice G-Sync 4k displays. My wife doesn't like cables running across the floor (and I don't like WiFi AT ALL). I couldn't convince them to step over my back and forth cables, so I had to connect to Wi-Fi. I was looking for the best solution for

Works well with Linux Mint

Just got it in the mail yesterday and now I have a real chance to try it out. I have a small cheap Asus laptop designed for Windows. I wanted to set it up to write C++ with a Linux distribution. First, I tried to install Arch on the device, but I had serious problems connecting to the WiFi. I decided to simplify things and try Linux Mint, to my dismay the same problem with WIFI didn't go away. I've researched on the internet and I think that this particular network card (wifi card) in thisโ€ฆ

Time will tell: Network adapter

I searched for hours and finally decided on PAU06. I received it in the mail on May 1st, 2020. Today is May 13, 2020 so this is a 13 day review because that's how long I've been using it. Regardless of the time of day, PAU06 works flawlessly. My son uses this computer for online learning. He is 4 years old and has no problem streaming HD videos with his teacher. First, make sure the PAU06 is connected to a USB 2.0 port. When setting up my computer, the USB 3.0 ports were causing the PAU06 toโ€ฆ
