Unevenly compressed wood. Density varies within a panel whether glue or wood is used. The result is differences in the cutting depth. I cut out two identical words from ONE piece of paper. With my Cricut Maker, one finished in 14 passes and the other took 6 extra passes. The rest of the leaves are the same, one part of the leaf is thinner than the other. Obviously the wood is not ideal for long cutting and after too many passes the top layer of the letters will be damaged. Too much time and material wasted.
