Review on 8milelake Professional Petrol Gas Engine Cylinder Compression Tester Gauge Kit with Case for Auto Enthusiasts by Matt Lewis

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Broke after a few uses.

Update: Less than a year later and it completely failed. It looks like air is somehow leaking through the gauge. Now it doesn't show compression on any vehicle or engine. I've only used it a couple of times and failing quickly is unacceptable. ), but with that in mind, I can safely do compression tests on my engines, my family's and friends' engines at home, without spending $100 on a mechanic or a dealer. Make sure that the plug-in adapter is very tight on the hose! I made a mistake on the first cylinder and the adapter is stuck in the engine! I was worried I'd have to drill it out or something, but with a little effort I can loosen it and get it without dropping metal into the motor. I then took the pliers and pulled the adapter onto the hose very tightly so it couldn't come loose. If you only want to use it on one engine, use threadlock or superglue to attach the adapter to the hose. Seriously, you don't want it stuck in your engine. This can mean a very bad time for you. If you ever needed to change adapters after sticking them together, you can just buy another set. You can do 5 tests before it matches what the dealer charges you. Nothing against dealers, they have to eat. If the adapters were somehow fixed on the hose, that would not be a problem. The largest adapter has socket holes for installing and removing it. Why is this not the case with smaller adapters? However. In the end it turned out that I recommend the product. This saves you money.

Pros
  • 3 inch gauge has dual color scales 0-300psi, 0-20kPa
Cons
  • Requires socket
