Review on Creuset Silicone Handle Sleeve Cerise by Janett Schweizer

I don't understand what's going on here. This item is made by the company that made my frying pan and was marketed specifically for the Le Creuset 12 inch frying pan, although it will work with other frying pans. But when I placed it on the handle of this pan, it didn't fit snugly, curling around the handle and not providing a secure grip, even though that was one of the two purposes of its existence. I then continued the experiment by heating the pan on the gas stove to what I would call a medium temperature. Ten minutes later, I tried to grab the pan by the newly protected handle, but was prevented from doing so by the intense heat searing through the silicone. As far as I can tell, this thing doesn't fulfill its two main functions. There is no evidence of a manufacturing defect so I wonder how this item could even work for any of the other reviewers. At the moment I'm using a folded towel again. Let me know if you find something that works!
