Never bought a bluetooth dongle; All of my previous peripherals came with their own (usually proprietary) USB transceivers. It took about 20 minutes for Windows 7, this gadget and the BT keyboard to not only pair but stay that way through a power cycle. Now it works fine. The blinking blue light is annoyingly bright and distracting so I taped it on.
