Quality control Borla sucks! 1 star for the processing of this silencer. The first muffler came with a lot of scratches on both sides of the entire muffler! I wasn't happy considering I'm paying for something new and I need it to look new! Yes, I know it will be under my truck, but for heaven's sake, check your items before shipping! Photo attached, muffler looks the shabbiest. Finally got a second one and it wasn't scratched that badly so I kept it to myself. However, I polished the thing with Chemical Guys Metal Polish and a microfiber cloth. After cleaning, I sealed it with Chemical Guys Hybrid Sealant. I squirted 2-3 times a day for a few days to make sure the finish in Chicago's bipolar ass lasted as long as possible! The same process was applied to the chrome resonators! This muffler was just what my Dodge Durango RT needed! Been using it for 2 weeks now, great sound! As others have said, this level is higher than stock but not overly aggressive. You know it's there on cold starts and on the gas, but you hardly notice it when driving on the freeway. Very minimal drone. I'm sure any drone will shrink if I put a coating on the body. I asked the store to install a pair of Flowmaster Super 10s on my truck and the drone became incredibly annoying! The droning was so bad the people in the 3rd row couldn't join in let alone hear the conversation from the front! After countless searches for another muffler, I finally settled on this Turbo XL 2-in, 2-out muffler. Keep in mind that the muffler comes as a Pro XS muffler, but they are the same item. As for the installation, I got a new 2.5" pipe from the crampons I just ran to the exhaust pipes. First up is the Borla silencer. where the case with the resonator was, then right next to the X pipe, then a pair of 14.5 inch chrome exhaust pipes with Different Trends resonators in the back. The silencer is made of free-flow stainless steel. In the center is a notch the size of a silver dollar. According to the muffler salesman, this opening was described as a way to balance flow and sound. I wouldn't fully compare it to the X-Pipe, so I've decided to leave mine. I would place the Xpipe in front of the silencer but space was limited. Maybe another store? All in all it was a good buy and if I had known that I would have installed this setup the first time, not the third, and almost $1000 later, smdh! It is also possible to install 2 separate units on the back.
