For the past few months I have been looking for a good GPS to replace my recently purchased Garmin Nuvi 765. The last GPS I looked at was the TomTom 740 Go Live which was being returned. I use my GPS every day to get from place to place in the country's sixth largest city. The GPS works just like any other GPS I've ever bought. Garmin from Street Pilot 330 to this GPS. Screens and maps are almost the same. Easy to read, not a lot of detail but enough to get our bearings, with simple colors for us members of the color blind community. What I like the most is the Garmin Line, as you approach your final destination the GPS tells you and also lets you know if the location is on the right or left and also shows the address you are looking for. (TomTom does not have this feature). Keth switched to voice commands. Voice commands are great. When it appears on screen, say the item and the screen will change. Entering and addressing by voice command is also extremely easy. Depending on which "voice" you choose will depend on how long it takes to enter the address. For example Matt's voice, I didn't have to wait for the computer to ask for the city, I just said it, but with the other voices you have to wait for the GPS to ask you for the city and state. the town. If you've ever worked with a Garmin GPS, voice commands and just touches on the screen, but you're using your voice. Very beautiful. Another cool thing this GPS does is gaming. It's not really what you buy a GPS for, but it's a nice addition. A very nice feature, albeit $10 a month. Garmin offers a camera security alert, but only for Europe at the time of writing. A small moderate problem was that the voice did not work when the radio was on. It sounds strange, but TomTom 740 worked with the radio on and the air conditioner on. After all, this GPS is rated with a really strong four stars. For a new lower price, who can complain. Oh, the GPS has been discontinued in the Garmin line.
