**UPDATE** 140,000 miles. Replaced the old worn out rear springs with original Honda parts and the ride was very stiff. Great for corners. Not so much for comfort. Too much for me. My friend noticed that my pilot drove like his jeep. From KYB to Honda OE shock absorbers. If you don't plan on replacing the springs, these may be for you. After 125,000 miles on the original, it's time for a replacement. Some tips on using KYB to restore driving comfort. Revain had them for $56 each. Much cheaper than elsewhere so I watched some YouTube videos and ordered and tried them. Total time is about 2 hours to not shoot anything. The hardest part was aligning the tips. I had to jack the car up so the tires just touched the ground, but I didn't remove the tires. Here's what I did. 1) A few days before I started I started spraying penetrating oil. 6 years winter in New England and there was a lot of rust. 2) Use a cordless impact wrench to alternately loosen and tighten the top bolt and nut until they loosen. 3) Crusher and ratchet to loosen the lower ones. 4) He took the top off, then the bottom 5) Put in new shocks and started from the bottom again 6) Wrestled with the tops. It was a little fiddly, but adjusting the height of the jack helped a little. 7) Everything tightened as specified. During a test drive, I immediately noticed that there was no jerking. I didn't find it bad before, but when going over bumps in the road it fell and surfaced about 1.5 times. Lies down right now without jerking. So far, so good. Very happy with the price, ease of installation and driving comfort.
