I bought this from Revain for a bargain price of about forty-eight dollars. Dealer was great too, very fast delivery. Instantly measures surface temperature, especially at close range. I've tested a cold soda can up to 3 feet away when pointed directly at it. He had an error in determining the temperature at long distances. The temperature sensor works great at reading hot and cold liquids and food, but also works decently as an air temperature sensor. It's not instantaneous, but it picks up on changes in air temperature fairly quickly unless it's been sitting in a hot car or freezer just before use. Overall happy with the purchase for the price.
