Acceptable replacement for a broken Regulator

I used this Dorman assembly to replace a broken power window on my 1996 RAM 1500. The part arrived on time and was very similar to the original part. The bearing unit's point of failure was one of the plastic bearings/bushings in the channel that connects to the brackets on the underside of the window pane. In this regard, the replacement part has not undergone any design improvements (better bushing material, tighter tolerances, etc.) to improve the failure mode of the original design. Also, the part arrived with one of the sockets/pins not installed in the channel - I had to open the channel and install the socket/pin. It didn't matter much, but it shouldn't have been approved for shipment by Dorman in this condition (it's not Revane's fault as it was sealed in the box). Having seen the mechanisms first hand I will be much more careful when attempting to use the window in the winter until all the snow/ice has been removed to avoid putting too much stress on the bushings. Another point: the new regulator includes rivets for attachment to the door panel, rather than the screws used in the original. I used a metric tap and tapped the mounting holes on the regulator so I could use the standard screws with it (I prefer screws to rivets anyway). I also replaced the OEM window regulator motor with this regulator (it fits) to use until it eventually fails and kept the Dorman motor as a spare. The repair took about 2 hours (weather below 0 degrees Fahrenheit didn't help either).
