This hub gets the job done. I use one with each of my desktops because accessing the USB ports on my desktop means accessing the back of my computer. This not only gives me one connection like a basic USB extender, but also four ports, and even if all four are used with flash drives and hard drives attached, the device will load each one and give you a chance to check open devices and there is no slowdown when writing or downloading them. I like the blue indicator lights. Great device. All four that I bought worked right out of the box and have continued to work for over 6 months since purchase.
