Review on Renogy 12V 100Ah AGM Battery: High-Performance, Low Self-Discharge, And Safe For All Your Off-Grid Needs! by Matthew Peterson

Revainrating 3 out of 5

AH rating outdated in my review

These batteries are cheap when they’re on sale but do not hold a lot of usable energy. I had these installed in a 48 V series connection in my RV. After doing some testing with high wattage appliances I was super bummed to find the batteries draining very quickly even after being on a Agm battery maintainer for 3 months. I’m not sure if this had to do with a specific batch of batteries I received. I do give them good ratings for customer service because I was able to get a refund for all four batteries as they were all under performing. I found this also has to do with the overall chemistry of AGM batteries and all lead acid batteries. Due to the 50% DOD maximum, and low performance under heavy loads these were truly disappointing in an RV application. I would not feel comfortable even with four of these batteries to last for a very long time considering to properly power things you need to discharge them way past the recommended limit. Unfortunately if you’re looking to buy some batteries for your RV do what I did and get 200 amp hours of lithium. It has more usable power than 400 amp hours of these batteries.

Pros
  • Longer Shelf Life
Cons
  • May not be suitable for marine or coastal environments
