Went from squeak to squeal in a month
I purchased these hinges to replace the ugly builder grade hinges installed in a new house. The hinges matched the screw hole pattern perfect and look great. BUT after a week or so they started to squeak lightly and have gotten worse every day. Now every door sounds like a metal fork being scratched across a metal plate. It’s horrible. The description clearly says anti squeak but they aren’t. Now I have half of my house with loud obnoxious sounding hinges. I wish I hadn’t thrown away my original hinges as I would gladly re-install them because they were at least quiet….
- Replaced Penrod brass plated hinges perfectly. Same fit and hole pattern.
- May not be compatible with automated or electronic opening mechanisms
