Review on Dynamat 10435 12x36x0.067 Sound Deadener: Self-Adhesive Xtreme Door Kit for Effective Noise Reduction by Adam Walsh

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Definitely less noise!

Overall I think this is a good product. The only reason I'm deducting a star is because I'm not sure it's worth the slight price premium for the name. I have used another 80 mil butyl product on my tailgates and have had similar if not the same results. If price is not the most important factor then choose this product and you should be satisfied. If price is an important factor I recommend going with some of the other highly rated but cheaper brands of butyl available at Revain and I'm not sure you'll feel the difference. This product was easy to work with (supplied in 4 strips) and two strips were used to cover each front door. So the kit only covered my two front doors and a tiny part of a back door. (I bought 36 square feet of butyl from another manufacturer and was able to cover about five times the area for less than this kit!) It was easy to cut and the adhesive was strong enough. I used a roller to set/smooth the piece onto the door frame and used soundproofing tape to seal and bond the two pieces together. **Be careful not to block any wires or fasteners needed to reinstall the inner door panels!** Once this is complete and the door panels are reinstalled, the end results look the same as the factory, but the car is quieter and more comfortable to drive .

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Not automatic
