Review on πŸ“‘ Winegard RV-WING Wingman UHF RV TV Antenna Booster: Easy Installation, Enhances Digital UHF TV Reception – White by Sean Powers

Revainrating 4 out of 5

The UHF stations I got before this shutdown stay much better now and I get intermittent reception from the stats

3 fastening rivets were required. The sensor is already bi-directional +, this yagi mount makes it uni-directional, point the yagi nose at the transmit antenna(s) [*TX]. Unfortunately, my antenna mast can only be rotated 180 degrees +/-, so parking is required to allow the nozzle to be aimed where the transmitters are. The UHF stations where I used to make this cut are much more stable now and I get intermittent reception from stations that don't get through. Generally, my RV is about 90 miles from some/most transmitters in Dallas, which is a huge distance for UHF or VHF frequencies, which of course are limited to "line of sight". This app deserves 5 stars, but my next wish is for Winegard (or someone else) to make an extension for the antenna mast and the appropriate coax cable to raise the antenna. There is no way to improve reception quality with this upgraded Sensar antenna. A further 10ft height helps, but the higher height provides more leverage on the mast tie in strong winds. Remember what they said about the height of the lighthouse in elementary school? After passing the horizon, to raise the light enough to "see" requires an exponentially larger increase to make a difference. Then there are the atmospheric conditions that degrade the light and/or radio frequencies to a point of impossible compensation. This appendix is probably as good as it gets. At this distance even the strongest stations sometimes drop out, this is to be expected, especially during the day/evening when the ionosphere is at its maximum. + You have eyes in front of and behind your head. Extend the arms (original antenna elements) straight and rotate them so that both pairs of eyes are looking directly at the center of the transmitter from a distance, ie when reception is best. My exhaust fan and Blu-ray player motors seem to be generating EMI/RF noise and affecting my reception.
