Works with Sonic Fusion DSL service in the Bay Area

Fairly easy setup once you know what to do in the master . Using a Sonic modem/router, I averaged the following speeds: 15.65 Mbps download; Download 1.05Mbps. With the TD-8817, my averages are now 15.95 Mbps; Download 0.93Mbps. I'm not sure why my download speed increased, but my download speed decreased. 15.65 is fast enough so I'd rather reduce the load but increase the load. However, I encountered the following problem. If anyone has a solution, please reply to this post and let me know. Just copying a post I made on the Sonic forums: I recently replaced my Sonic modem/router with a TP-Link TD-8817 DSL modem paired with a Netgear WRG614v9 router. When I was using DSL and an AT&T modem, my Netgear router was able to enable dial-up. Now when I enable remote access using the above combination, I get the following error: The specified ports are in use by other configurations. Check your Remote Management, Port Forwarding, Port Triggering, UPnP Port Mapping Table, RIP and Internet Connection Type settings. We are very grateful for any help. I can provide all my modem settings if that helps.

Pros
  • Works with the latest ADSL standards: up to 24 Mbps downstream, excellent performance
Cons
  • Lasts a long time
