Review on 📦 Darice 9157-69 Unfinished Wooden Box: Natural, 3.4 x 9.2 x 12 inches - Perfect for DIY Crafts and Home Decor by Hannah Curi

I used simple wooden boxes with hinges as a starting point for several souvenir boxes that I made for the girls in the family. I chose them based on availability, looks on the Revain list, and reasonable price. These boxes are the same quality as the ones I've bought at craft stores (e.g. Michael's, Hobby Lobby, etc.) over the years. The remarkable thing about them that I would like to comment on is the inconsistent quality. Of the four boxes I bought, one was of the quality I expected; The lid and base lined up well when the box was closed, the hinges attached well to the box and the finish was workable (minimal/light sanding required to prepare for stain and/or varnish). The other three drawers suffered from different top/bottom combinations that were misaligned due to poor hinge assembly, hinges crooked, hinge hardware (screws) damaged and/or not fully screwed in, some really rough sides (one had a top panel that was like that rough that I couldn't practically sand it smooth and I had to use a lot of wood putty and then sand some more and that meant this particular crate had to be painted and not just stained/varnished I wasn't sure if they were made children or disabled or whatever, but the quality of the smaller specimens was quite disappointing.
