Compared to Canson XL and Strathmore 400/500, I can say that this paper pad from Baohong (Meeden) is much better in my opinion. The paper is beautiful and has a great cold print texture, I don't have a problem with heavy washable paper but that may be due to the intertwining of the pages. Separating the sheet from the block is easy, they include a great sheet shaped tool that nips in and helps separate the sheets from the block. I had no problem doing the two watercolor exercises and I can say that I would wholeheartedly recommend this paper if you are a beginner or just need a good starter paper if you don't have the budget to buy Arches or Fabriano error with this paper.
