I bought Neat Desk five or six years ago. The scanner still works (there were a few issues, but mostly software related). When I bought the scanner it was supposed to contain copies of documents and scanned income tax slips. The files are stored on my computer, backed up to a network drive here at home, sometimes backed up to a portable drive, and also backed up to online cloud storage. Last November, the software suddenly stopped opening. Apparently it has something to do with interfering with so-called outdated software (mainly backup software). I've tried everything to temporarily disable them, but couldn't get it to work (and I don't want to permanently disable my backups for Neat Desk to work). Since I don't need their cloud service (I already back up these files, like everyone else) and don't subscribe to them, I can't talk to anyone. It says I can email them but if I click their link you know what? That does not work. Right now I can't even access my scans from the last five to seven years because the program won't open. I will not be forced to buy a cloud service. I don't need access to my files. I've spent many hours scanning with a scanner that I paid full price for. My advice is don't buy from these people.
