NOT impressed. The thermostat is leaking and will not turn on the fan. Please ensure you keep an eye on your pressure gauge before trusting this device to work out of the box. Mine hit 210 degrees, then I had to turn the thermostat to cool the transmission. I didn't have any cooling issues before installing this cooler, but I'm planning on pulling something and wanted to upgrade. So much for this idea. Frustrated and frustrated I went to a performance shop and luckily their transmission builder explained it to me: This thermostat only reads and regulates (when it works) the coolant temperature of the intake fluid. This does NOT mean your transmission is running between 165 and 180. When the liquid hits the radiator, the radiator should already have lowered the liquid temperature by 10-15 degrees, which means that the gearbox is at 195. If you want TRUE transmission temperature control, you must connect the thermostat directly to the output line coming from the transmission, NOT to the inlet on the radiator. He also said that my 4R100 is rated for an operating temperature of 175 degrees, +/- 10-15 degrees for durability. Consider all of this at your own risk and make good connections to avoid leaks. Personally, I'm going to overhaul the whole damn system. Hopefully the fan and cooler will hold up, but I'm not optimistic.
