It took me a while to figure out the best way to use them and now they're quick and easy to install. First I drive in a nail of the same diameter as the nail a little. Wide enough for the bridle to grip. Then I use my hammer (not a rubber mallet - it actually caused more bending) and gently drive the potholder in all the way. The stitching head is not deformed. You are strong enough. When I started installing them this way, I had very few crashes. It sounds like it's going to take a long time, but you get into the rhythm and it's very quick.
