Bought for the winter when the house isn't that warm at night for a New York dragon. She sleeps under it every night and it's not too hot because she's halfway around the territory. The cover helps when I had to take it off and not burn myself. The fact that there is no light in it and there is heat is amazing, especially since so many people have screwed it up and are using red light it's great! It adds a little extra warmth to her bathing area and I don't have to adjust her other light and maybe burn her too.
