Storage is storage. As long as it stores your data at certain speeds, what difference does it make which brand it is. However, you get what you pay for and while this hard drive still serves me well, it does have one downside. It gets very hot and is one of the loudest HDs I've ever used. All of this doesn't mean it's a bad drive as it still works great, but I would only use it in a sealed PC case. If you have all the panels it's barely noticeable when it's on the floor or under a table etc. If you use an open drawer like I do, you can always tell when it's in use.
