Review on 🔒 Enhanced Security Guards - National Hardware N335 984 by Anthony Shields

I bought three of these for three doors in my house. I was disappointed to find that two of my doors didn't have a bolt just behind where I was trying to place them on the frame. I guess I'll have to buy a chain lock so I can space the two pieces further apart. They are best drilled into a door frame with a FLAT bar. The two pieces catch when connected and the door opens. You can only space them that far apart when installing, otherwise they won't work. I recommend figuring out where the stud is behind your door frame first before drilling any holes in the door. Either with a deep scan stud finder or you can drill a SMALL hole in the frame (which can easily be patched if there is no stud) to see if there is a stud. If I had done this first I wouldn't have 3 holes in the metal door that I now have to fill and then paint. If you want to make your door even more secure, replace your existing hinge screws with 3" stainless steel screws. Not only does this provide extra strength as stainless steel screws are stronger than other materials, but they also take longer to break open giving you extra valuable time to defend yourself. You can also replace the screws in the strike plates and possibly replace the strike plates all together with longer ones. The larger the strike plate, the harder it is to pick. I give five points, I would buy it again and recommend it.
