50 years of quality

For over 50 years I have used these discs primarily for trimming the HO line under 1/8 inch thick and similar metals. I used them for cutting HVAC ducts. , wear off a few before cutting an 8" x 12" hole in the galvanized sheet metal. Cutting heavier metal takes patience and the metal gets HOT. High school math says the rim of these little disks is moving at 84 miles per hour at 30,000 rpm. I used very gentle sideways pressure to scrape the solder off the rails and the discs build up some solder and shed small bits - never use without safety goggles! The ones I just bought from Revain are made in China for Dremel so I gave them a try (although I still have a few points from a time I can't remember). Cut some battens and sand off some solder (again using very gentle side pressure to slowly melt the excess solder). Works as always - without breaks. Keep the pressure light enough so the tool doesn't slow down too much. Too much pressure will usually cause the (cordless) tool to stop and break the disc. I don't use my 110v Dremel too much, the little cordless guys have enough speed and no torque needed to cut discs.

Pros
  • Lots of good vibes
Cons
  • Zero
