Bought this as a gift for a 6 year old boy. It was very easy to set up and stabilize. The easiest way to stabilize was to add water, but sand didn't bother either. My advice, go straight with the sand. With water on the bottom, the device wobbles quite a bit. This poor thing was badly injured. Everyone who comes wants to try. It was very funny. Unfortunately, after a month of operation, wear and tear begins to appear. It no longer stands upright and just keeps sagging to the side. Also, evil began to flop and stir. A bit of a shame, but as I mentioned earlier, we sent this item in for review. Overall I'd still recommend it, but be aware that it will probably wear out pretty quickly.
