Review on Motorcraft SW8368 Oil Pressure Switch: Perfect Performance for Optimal Engine Health by Craig Kumar

Don't waste time with an aftermarket replacement

A non-genuine part from the parts store intended as a direct replacement looked correct and screwed on correctly but the connector was not quite right and could not get connected. He just wasn't in the zone. This Ford part costs about $11 more than the aftermarket but fits perfectly - wish I had the extra $11 the first time instead of having to install it twice. And it was MUCH cheaper here (way below the list) than my local Ford dealer who sells parts 7.5% ABOVE the list. Note that the sensor is screwed in behind the oil filter on the 2008 F150 - you can change it without draining the oil, but you'll lose about a pint in the process and it's messy. Offer to combine this project with an oil change. Also follow the harness forward about 30 cm to where it is anchored to the fixed line. Loosen it from there for just enough slack to make disconnecting/reconnecting much easier and reattach to the hardline when you're done.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Useless features
