Review on Andersen® Reachout Receiver Panel Present by Justin Kautzman

Check before you drill

I have a mid 1990's Anderson PS200 slider that I installed myself. The lock was worn out so I decided to replace it after getting the correct part number from Andersen. The parts came quickly and correctly from the Revain supplier. The latch on the door matched the swingarm I ordered perfectly. However, the problem on the side of the post was that in order to align the latch's "knob" with the "target" on the post, I had to file the adjustment slots about 1/8" longer to allow the two halves of saw the line (uses a chain file). The (very detailed) instructions called for raising the jamb inset (for pre-2002 doors) 3/4" with a putty knife. However, this wouldn't work for me as lowering the unit would not allow the use of two sockets with mounting screws (8-32) in the post. I also recommend that you apply anti-seize thread compound to the threads of the latch receiver adjustment screw. My old one is completely frozen. Also make sure Be sure to install the gaskets as instructed before installing the post's 3-inch locking screw.
