Review on IVY Classic 44782 SDS Plus Adaptor by Justin Sherman

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Halfway to the SDS Plus Shank Screwdriver

I used this along with a deep socket to make a bar screwdriver as genuine SDS Plus screwdrivers are hard to come by and expensive. It's not entirely clear to me that anyone would want to use a hammer drill for the supposedly intended use of this adapter for turning nuts or bolts. Because it exists, I assume someone knows something I don't. I can understand why bar bits are not normally offered for SDS plus. Hammers with SDS Plus cartridges are not usually powerful enough to be used frequently to drive rebar and earth rods. But for occasional light use and in combination with a sledgehammer to get over hard-to-reach spots (like underground rocks), it can still come in handy. I was happy to even have a low powered rod drive when I had to sink rebar next to woodwork. I didn't want to swing the sled next to it. It was slow, but I was able to get the rebar in place with much less effort and the risk of hitting the surrounding pieces. Efficiency depends on the ground you're trying to hit and the rock drill you're driving it with, so your mileage may vary.
