There is no battery for this unit (unless the compartment is totally hidden). Failed after one day

Very pleased with this item at first use. At next use, thought the unit had been left on and the battery had died, but discovered there is no compartment for a battery, or you have to take off the back which would probably void a warranty. It is advertised in specifications and elsewhere as having a battery. My instructions came only in Chinese, a language that I have never studied. After plugging in charging cord, it appears that the issue id that the sensor is defective/dead. After reading the other reviews, I don't recommend purchasing this product.
