It seems to work until it stops.

Satechi 12-Port Hub looked exactly how I wanted it. I don't need 12 devices connected (6 max) but I/want/know that I have a free port when I need it. I have had my device for about 2 years. During this time I noticed that I was plugging into my computer and not a hub. Why? The hub just never worked very well. With USB sticks I had very poor performance and occasional read/write errors. With my Garmin ANT+ joystick, the connection sometimes broke randomly. There were always small issues that I could never find as the root cause (or just didn't take the time to look at the full cause), but they mysteriously disappeared when I started using my computer's USB ports. In the end, the hub became nothing more than a charger. . At least he was doing it well enough, albeit slowly. But since a couple of weeks it doesn't work anymore. The power light on the wall charger started blinking and gave a high-pitched squeak. The blue lights on the hub will flash accordingly. This is a prime example that you get what you pay for. The 12 USB 2.0 ports for $25 seems like a lot. But in the end it becomes clear that Satechi has cut corners in all of this. From a cheap power adapter to questionable USB functionality to really bad charging options. This device is disposable electronics only. Use it as long as it lasts, then throw it away.
