Review on Yukon Gear SK SSF9 75 Differential by Victor Rodriguez

Be careful with the setup advertised

I have a 2005 TJ with no restrictions with a Dana 44 rear end which are shims fitted to the outside of the carrier bearings. I checked Yukon's own website to make sure they (SK 30214) are compatible with my car, but when they arrived it's a style that fits the holder on the inside of the bearing and not the body. This caused me great difficulty for several reasons. 1. I had to dig pretty deep on the forums before I knew you could safely use the old "rear bearing" style seals, 2 I had to buy additional bearings to grind them down to use as mounting bearings , and 3 there weren't enough shins to accommodate the total thickness of the stock pads, so I had to remove material from the thick outer pads and combine them with these inner pads to get what I needed. I'm not sure if the shims listed for the Dana 44 HD are compatible with the non-HD axle in the TJ or not, but they definitely "look" like I need them, so Yukon may need to update their parts catalog .
