I've tried using this bit to cut circles with a jasper jig. Although like all Freud bits it's insanely sharp was up and working well, the noise and vibration made me nervous and cut quite slowly. For the 1 1/4" deep I couldn't find an alternative to the 1/4" rod, but for the Jasper Circular Gauge I found that the Freud 75-104 worked MUCH better with the 1/2" rod and was very easy to use. Used with a 1/8" offset jig. This is the first 1/4" jig. Shank drill I bought and used and now I know why the pros highly recommend using 1/2" shank drills. Good drills from Freud but limited to 1/4" rod.
