I have never used this type of wheel on an angle grinder. I have been welding metals as a hobby for a number of years and have often used a grinding wheel to prepare surfaces for welding. Most of my material is exposed to the elements, so there is surface rust that I literally spent tens of hours sanding. These things instantly remove the surface treatment/oxidation of the metal. This is way better than grinding. I was amazed at how fast and how clean my metal surface was after one pass. I am attaching some photos of a fairly badly rusted piece of box steel before and after this disc was temporarily scraped. . It's literally like 2 seconds of work. I've been using these discs for a few days and they don't seem to wear out very quickly. I don't drive them over rough surfaces - I just oxidize the surface and paint. These discs are very tight on my angle grinder guard, but they clean without grinding.
