I used this 1/2" carbide end mill to cut a free corner on O2 tool steel. HSS end mills cut this material but have to work very slowly. I was able to make it full length cuts 0.1 inch deep at 660 rpm and about 5 inches per minute. This was on a Bridgeport manual knee mill, so I turned by hand and timed the cuts with my wrist watch so the feed rate was approximate. For lighter cuts I could have increased the feed a bit. The cutter has held up well for the price and I would buy another one if needed.
