We have been using this model of thermometer for a number of years and love it. You no longer have to go outside or even go to the window to see if the windows are open. Our manometer hangs outside, where neither sun nor wind act. My sister put hers in the basement of her 100+ year old house so she knows when to turn on the heat to keep her plumbing from freezing.
