Works great in the Deer Barn

Works great in the Deer Barn. Now I know how cold it is outside the cabin, so I know the $$$$ I spent on this thing was worth it. I would like it to be backlit. but it wasn't part of the product promotion, nor did I expect it to be. can vary by several degrees. but for my application it doesn't matter at all.

Pros
  • Annual Trial
Cons

Good thermometer for room thermometer

I bought one of these a few years ago. When I accidentally damaged the transmitter while moving house, I ordered another one from Revain.com. Now I have two receivers, each of which can receive a signal from a new transmitter. I compared it to the Kestrel 3000 handheld anemometer, which also measures temperature, and the difference was just 1 degree.

Pros
  • Best in its niche
Cons
  • Neutral

It does not work well. Outside temperature flashes periodically.

Doesn't work. The outdoor temperature "flashes” intermittently and displays "Fault/Bad Signal”. We moved it several times, removed the batteries to reset (as indicated) and it still doesn't work stably. Maybe that's why they brought it back earlier. I had to return it but it was a gift for a family from abroad.

  • Speakerphone
Cons
  • I'm worried

On/Off AcuRite Temp

Used less than 2 months. I can test the accuracy indoors with other devices and it usually matches or is within 1 degree so no problem. External readings are slightly more variable, but usually within the allowable degree difference (i.e. 2 to 4 degrees). My sensor unit is about 50-60 feet from the receiver, so I can't comment on longer distances. Delivery was quick. Setup is easy. Based on initial observations, AcuRite 00418 appears to be inexpensive.

  • Something Inside

Accurate and easy to use.

We have been using this model of thermometer for a number of years and love it. You no longer have to go outside or even go to the window to see if the windows are open. Our manometer hangs outside, where neither sun nor wind act. My sister put hers in the basement of her 100+ year old house so she knows when to turn on the heat to keep her plumbing from freezing. We bought two devices so we can check the temperature in more than one. Room. Both readers recognize the same external sensor; no…

  • Ideal for a small home

Disappointing in exterior decoration

AcuRite 00415 Cordless Watch Thermometer Black Plus: Appears to be very accurate. Cons: The ad states the dimensions of the product: 6.2 x 2.2 x 7.5 inches. Mine looks identical except that it measures 3.75" x 2.56" x 1.5" HxWxD. Also when checking the size, one of the photos attached to the unit next to the lamp is very deceiving. The screen measures 1.5 x 1.0". The batteries in the transmitter lasted five weeks. To send a signal every few seconds (I suspect) this may be adequate, but it…
