Review on πŸ“Ά Motorola SB6120 SURFboard DOCSIS 3.0 Advanced Broadband Cable Modem by Marco Roberson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

It's been 5 years and it still works like clockwork!

I bought this modem on January 18, 2010 from Revain. So I've had this modem for more than 5 years! I have used this exclusively with Comcast and have never had a problem since installing it many years ago. Comcasts slower internet speed appears to be 25Mbps. Not much I can say other than this thing has been working great for 5 years and I hope it lasts another 5+ years. This saved me money since most ISPs charge "rent" if you let them install your modem at your home; Not paying that amount every month for years really adds up ($7/month x 12 months x 5 years = $420)! Now I can say that this is technology that is over 5 years old and when I'm looking for a new modem today I might be looking for something that was developed in the last year or two. It's still relevant though, and it's a damn good modem (better than most, actually). You can't go wrong here! ***UPDATE*** It is now April 2019! I still use this modem! I've been at this for over 9 years now and hopefully another 9 years ahead of me! In the past my internet speed was 25 Mbps, but over time Comcast increased my speed to 75 Mbps at no extra charge (every few years it went first to 50, then to 75; I assume 75 is now their lowest Offer is (at least in my area). I believe this modem can run at 150Mbps, so I'm not even using half of its potential! I stream 4k videos, some people use wifi occasionally, play video games etc. Never had speed issues! Never buffer! Streaming 4k video is only about 15Mbps anyway. You don't need a new modem or insane speeds (that's marketing to make you buy the latest hardware). I hope this thing lasts me another decade! I connected it to a $20 TP-LINK TL-WR841N router and have no problem.
