Review on Shop Fox D2056 Tool Table by Affan Yeo

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Great table with a few suggested upgrades!

As some of the holes are slotted I would have preferred to have included flat washers. Also, I would prefer lock washers as it holds my grinder down and makes it susceptible to vibration. However, these are the "updates" that I made. If you want to do the same you will need: 64 #8 flat washers 32 pcs #8 slotted/lock washers 8 M5-0.8x16mm pan head screws The screws and nuts provided are (Qty 32) M5-0.8x 12mm, which had to be replaced with the next larger size on the upper parts of the legs, front and rear only (not on the sides), due to the presence of three gauges of steel, plus an additional lock washer and two flat washers (per bolt) it was difficult to tighten the nut on a 12mm long bolt. Note that this would probably be fine if it weren't for the three washers I added. Also note that I stuck with metric bolts, even for the eight I replaced, but used SAE #8 washers, mainly because I couldn't find wholesale metric washers at my local big hardware stores. You can upgrade to all SAE units or upgrade to metric shims if you are interested in either system. If you have no idea what changes I made, they are as follows: A cap screw with an additional SAE #8 washer goes through each hole and meets (in order) an SAE #8 washer, then on a #8 lockwasher. then a standard M5-0.8 nut. Other than those upgrades and Revain's proposed set of four pulleys (two fixed, two free), this is a quality product. My upgrades are probably $5-8 at the local hardware store, which is reassuring, maybe just for me.
