I have used advertised air intakes on several vehicles over the years, namely K&N products, but I feel they are missing. I bought this valance for my 2006 Ford Harley F150 hoping it would only draw in cold air; It does exactly the same as a standard airbox, but on top of that it has two extra air intakes that also suck hot air under the hood, defeating the purpose! You don't want to buy the $160 extra handset advertised on this site; I have chosen to block additional entrances. This may have reduced the amount of air entering the device, but I thought the difference was negligible. As for the horsepower increase. or gas mileage, I don't have actual numbers to report but the truck feels better. Installation was pretty easy. The instructions provided are very simple descriptive text, basic hand tools are all that is required. I found inserting the filter element into the box was quite difficult, a bit of silicone spray helped and I ended up using the stock 6mm bolt as the only fastener holding the box to the fender pan as there was already a threaded hole. Also due to some alignment/spacing issues I had to move the ABS relay/fuse module deeper into the fender well. The instructions make no mention of removing/replacing the stock breather hose. The hose is included, but I recommend using clamps, particularly on the valve cover/mounting block. Overall this is a quality product that improves the car's performance and looks. I would recommend buying this product.
