The Kreg 24" Rip-Cut Precision Circular Saw Guide is a very good idea, but so-so execution. The saw guide definitely allowed me to cut 11-4 x 8 sheets much faster and easier than if I was using a table saw. However, the cheap plastic construction means the guide doesn't last very long, and the short length of the guide required me to cut a width I don't need for cuts over 24 inches, rather than cutting the width I do. want but need to consider the width of the blade. The circular saw attachment doesn't attach well to my Porter MAG cable which has a thicker base than the mounting brackets can easily grip The problem was putting two washers between the base and mounting bracket . 2. The Kreg base assembly is very cheap. As the set screw on the base of my circular saw is tightened, the plastic base clamp assembly gradually begins to deform. It breaks sooner or later. Kreg's base mount could have gotten 5 stars if it was aluminum, or at least much thicker plaster 3. The leftmost crosshair "holder" for the aluminum ruler barely holds the plastic crosshair. 4.T The plastic part of the aluminum ruler that sits at the T mark would be much more valuable if it was 3-4 inches longer. However, most of the section of plastic that travels along the piece being cut reaches the end of the wood being cut before the circular saw blade has completed the cut. As a result, it's difficult to keep the last few inches of the incision parallel to the edge.
