I'm nervous and bought this modem to replace a broken Motorola SB6120 I've had for almost 10 years. It's 16x4 and almost doubles the carrying capacity I had on the bike, which is good news. When Spectrum came in to restore service they left me an Arris GD1670A which is a 32x4 and with my current plan it doesn't matter that I get the same throughput both up and down as that is the real difference. After receiving the device I called Spectrum, gave them the MAC address and was online for a few minutes. Arris (14W), but still essential for something that runs 24/7. I love that these refurbished units come with almost no packaging. No stupid paperwork nobody reads anyway, no flyers with free lollipops if you donate an organ, no nonsense.
