I needed to replace the snap ring on a Bulldog angle jack on farm equipment. The only tool I had on hand was with reversible "X" tips, and they just didn't suit the job. They fit small rings but are over 2 inches in diameter. He just doesn't open the ring wide enough. I was only able to buy the one tool I needed, but figured I might as well get a full set while I'm at it. Then I have them here next time I need them. An external straight pin tool took the job where a lighter tool failed in seconds and just got it done.
