These are my first set of slotted and slotted bits. I like them but they are by far the scariest baits I have worked with them: they're big and therefore cause a lot of vibration! My router and table really aren't the best for them and I had to fix and screw everything up before I could safely use them. I felt that even then in connection with more play than I expected. This might have been an issue in my setup (when looking at the parts out of the box, the parts seemed to fit together nicely.) However, other reviewers have noted that the vibration can result in a slightly larger cut than desired, me just not sure in my case I recommend fully inserting it into the collet (instructions state i.e ass it has to be at least 80% inserted, I don't have money for a better router and table that's about all I could get at the moment but if you have the money get the 1/2 shank -Version ", not 1/4". These sockets are so big it's scary to think they only hold onto 1/4 inch of metal! Also a variable speed router (so you can slow it down) would be nice. My router doesn't have variable speed, unfortunately I probably won't be using it too much until I can upgrade to something that does. Don't even think about using them in a handheld router.
